IOP Connector Run and Walk For The Children

Are you planning on visiting Charleston, South Carolina the weekend of October 6th? If so, you will first want to begin by staying at The Palms Hotel, a gorgeous hotel located in the Isle of Palms. It is surrounded by gorgeous, white sandy beaches and has been great activities, entertainment, and events. A great event to participate in is the Isle of Palms Connector Run and Walk for The Children. This event will take place on Saturday, October 6th at the Isle of Palms Connector. The big race will begin at 8.a.m. The best part is that this race is for an amazing cause. It is to make the community aware of child-abuse prevention and other child-related programs.

The Isle Of Palms Connector Run and Walk started in October 1993, and is now in its 20th year. The race will begin at the Isle of Palms and cross into Mount Pleasant. For all of the runners this will be a 10K and for the walkers it will be a 5K. No matter if you are running or walked you will be rewarded with the beautiful view throughout the race from the Intra Coastal Waterway, the Atlantic Ocean, and even local creeks and marshes. Over the years this has become one of South Carolina’s most popular races now having nearly 1,400 runners and walkers. It is the perfect time of year for the race as the cool fall weather will be in season. The finish line will be at J.C Long Blvd on the beautiful Isle of Palms. After the race is over it is time to celebrate with family and friends.

This year new for the first time the post race festivities include a complimentary beer garden and live band. Runners and walkers of all experience levels are encouraged to participate in this great race and to raise awareness for a very important cause. The race is presented by the Exchange Clubs of Mount Pleasant and the Isle of Palms, also the City of Isle of Palms and the town of Mount Pleasant. It is a great community benefit with lots of great involvement from sponsors, volunteers, and participants. Be sure to register today and take part in supporting the future our children.
