The entire island features only 4.5 square mile of land with just over four thousand residents living there.
The Isle of Palms features some of the most beautiful beachfront in the Charleston area. So spend a day at the beach with the Isle of Palms County Park. The Isle of Palms County Park was developed in 1996 by the Charleston County Parks & Rec after the public demanded better beach access in the area. The park features beautiful beachfront where families can come and spend a day enjoying the ocean. Lifeguards are on duty at the park during the peak seasons. The park also features outdoor showers for use, but please don’t use soap or shampoo at them. There are also snack stands selling hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream, drinks and more so that you can have a picnic on the beach. There is also a retail area with beach chairs, umbrellas, and corn hole toss rentals available.
